The Gilbert Centre is a community-based, not-for-profit, charitable organization that has been providing programs and services in Simcoe Muskoka since 1995. Safer Spaces

HIV/AIDS & Hepatitis C
Support Services

We recognize that people can live long and full lives with HIV, and the stigma is the real fight. Gilbert Centre supports folks in knowing their HIV and HCV statuses, navigating the healthcare system, and accessing treatments and supports. Gilbert Centre also advocates for better understanding and acceptance of people living with HIV and other STBBIs. Undetectable =Ā Untransmittable.

Queer & Trans Programming

We have multiple programs for 2S-LGBTQ+ people. Our QT Youth Connection Program provides social programming and systems navigation for 2S-LGBTQ+ youth ages 12-19 both online and in-person. Our GenQ program also offers social programming and systems navigation for 2S-LGBTQ+ young adults ages 20-29. Our Older & Bolder program provides a social space for 2S-LGBTQ+ folks ages 55+. No referral is required for these programs.

Harm Reduction Outreach &
Drop-in Programs

Harm reduction provides people with information about different activities that are often associated with harm in order to make the most informed decisions they can.Ā This includes choices about drug use, sexual activity, and self-harm. In addition to information and referrals, we provide harm reduction kits for safer drug use, sexual health materials such as condoms and lube, as well as naloxone kits and training.
